Our first 3 sales were 2 friends & 1 friend of friends.
To get these first 3 sales, we identify a) those who have a potential to understand and/or want our products & b) those who really close to us and would be willing to help. Then we reached out to them individually. We did it through face to face, email, phone and Facebook.
We approached them in 2 ways:
A. To try to sell the products
B. To share with them the story that we started a new business
A. is easy to understand, but we often forget about B. Our friends & families genuinely care that we started a new business. So they were actually really excited to hear our stories - how the idea started, how the designs were made, what road blocks we faced, etc - and were eager to help.
For those that bought, it's awesome.
For those that didn't need/buy, we then asked them to help us share to their networks.
Keep trying every method possible then stop and keep doing what works.
