When I started my family I realised that I no longer enjoyed going into the office every day to manage a team of employees and decided that I was going to build a business from home. Previously, I had never participated in social media so it was a whole new world for me but I ventured into the online realm and opened an online boutique selling babies and children's items.
I read everything I could on online marketing and tested different strategies to build the business and eventually found myself helping out other small business owners with advice and support. I then realised I had found my true passion of helping others and Webonize (http://webonize.com.au) was born.
Within my own networking groups and Facebook, I announced my new business and what I was offering. I specialise in search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media marketing and I was fortunate that I had clients almost immediately. My very first client that I still have today, found me on Twitter. My next 2 clients came from referrals through a Facebook group.
I can thank the relationships I formed on social media for my first 3 clients and social media and referrals is still a major source for bringing in new clients to the business today.
